Rob Hellewell is an attorney and vice president of electronic discovery east, in the Washington, D.C. office of Applied Discovery, a division of LexisNexis. He serves as one of Applied Discovery’s most experienced consultants, counseling clients on a wide range of discovery matters including, data gathering, identifying potential sources of relevant electronic data, negotiating scope limitations, formulating electronic discovery & document review strategies and producing documents to government agencies and other outside parties. Mr. Hellewell also advises clients on cost-saving strategies in matters involving the collection, processing and review of large amounts of email and other electronic data.
Mr. Hellewell also has extensive experience assisting clients with e-discovery issues in the antitrust and white collar area. He has advised clients in over 100 antitrust second requests, government investigations, litigations and other discovery matters. His clients include many of the world’s largest law firms and corporations.
Before joining Applied Discovery, Mr. Hellewell practiced in the Antitrust and Trade Regulation group in the Washington, D.C. office of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, LLP, where his work included counseling clients in electronic discovery and other issues relating to Federal Trade Commission and Department of Justice second requests, civil investigative demands, subpoenas duces tecum, grand jury subpoenas and Securities and Exchange Commission investigations.
Mr. Hellewell is a frequent author and speaker on the topic of electronic discovery and document review. He has also been retained as an expert witness in both state and federal litigation cases involving electronic discovery disputes.
